freedom

the fourth of july signifies the day that america was freed from the british officially. On this "hallowed" day, i want everyone to consider the meaning of freedom.

What you do each day that is completely free

What you would do if you could be free

Why you are not free

What freedom really means to you.

All of these are for ponderance's sake, and nothing else. If you need more specifics on each part, then you're being too anylitical, take each one for excactly what they mean to you, and consider them yourselves. I'll try to answer them myself in a little while, hopefully you'll be inspired, who knows.

I am not free. Bound by family and socially sanctioned relationships. But I am often completely free - free in my head. Free to play on the computer. Free to say what I think about many things. Free to dream. Free to listen. Free to read your blog. Free to love. Free to feel passionate about many things. I feel lucky.

Your post is touching.
I am completely free; if I ever find myself believing I am not free, I have to stop and realize that I am not free because of conflicts within myself.
To me, freedom is an ability to do what needs to be done to be comfortable, to pursue one's happiness and to survive.
I guess it becomes easier to be free as you grow older, since you are physically away from your family more often. We all have a propensity to limit ourselves whether or not we realize it. I believe that freedom is not something distributed by a government, a friend, a god, or a family. Instead, I believe that these things moderate our freedom, and how we prioritize these outside factors determines how much influence each factor has on our freedom.
